Committee nominations

We are pleased to invite nominations from across our community to join the WGH-A Committee. 

Serving on the WGH-A Committee is an opportunity to: 

  • Contribute to national, regional and international conversations on gender equity and leadership in global health* 

  • Lead or support impactful initiatives and events 

  • Help shape the strategic direction of WGH-A 

  • Be part of a dynamic, values-driven network committed to advancing women in global health 

WGH-A is strongest when our leadership reflects the rich diversity of Australia’s global health community. We particularly encourage nominations from individuals who bring: 

  • 🌏 Geographical diversity — including members based in NT, WA, Tasmania, regional or remote areas, or outside major cities 

  • 🏢 Non-academic perspectives — including government, NGOs, community organisations, private sectors and frontline or service delivery settings  

  • 🎓 Diverse skills and expertise — such as policy development, advocacy, program design, communications, implementation research, or community engagement 

  • 🌈 Cultural diversity and lived experience, and an intersectional lens on gender  

  • 🤝 A collaborative, community-minded approach and willingness to contribute to WGH-A activities and growth 

*Global health is the collective effort to improve health and wellbeing for all people, everywhere, through action in policy, clinical care, advocacy, research, and community practice, shaped by power, gender, and social context. 

We welcome nominations from people at all career stages - early-career, mid-career, and senior leaders - and from across all disciplines connected to global health. We are seeking to appoint 7-10 new members. If this is you and you are interested in creating collective impact, we would love to hear from you. We would also be grateful if you could help spread the word to others in your community and networks.
