Committee nominations

WGH Australia is calling for nominations for the following committees for a two-year term of membership.

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Gender Equality in Health Leadership Committee

  • Global Gender Equality in Health Leadership Committee

  • National Gender Equality in Health Leadership Committee

Committees will meet every two months and committee members are expected to be active participants making a contribution to advance women’s leadership in health.

Membership of committees is voluntary. WGH Australia will endeavour to provide additional supports where needed for participation.

Selection eligibility

To be eligible to nominate you must be a member of WGH Australia.


Selection criteria

All nominations will be considered. Criteria for consideration include:

  • Leadership within your community.

  • Demonstrated commitment to advancing women leaders in health.

We encourage women leaders at all levels to submit nominations, criteria will be considered relative to opportunity.

To ensure that each Committee reflects the diversity of our membership we would encourage nominations from individuals:

  • With varied professional experience.

    • We encourage students, young professionals and/or early career leaders to apply.

    • We encourage nominations from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers, Administrators and Managers, Nursing and Allied Health Professionals, Health Promotion and Policy Professionals and Researchers.

  • From across Australia. We also encourage nominations from Australians working in the Indo-Pacific region.

  • Who reflect the linguistic and cultural diversity of Australian women.

  • Who identify as LGBQTI+.

  • With lived experience of a disability.

Where the nominations received do not reflect the diversity of membership, WGH Australia reserves the right to approach additional candidates to nominate.
